We got some wonderful news last week that our 2013 Vintner’s Reserve  won a gold medal at our annual Governor’s Cup Competition. Emily, Elliott and George are in Richmond this evening with the rest of the winners celebrating and pouring. For those of you wine-nerds out there, we have also attached the technical notes below, and what’s the best news of all is that 100% of the fruit in this wine was grown here on Saddleback Farm.

Emily with the Winning Wine

2013 Vintner’s Reserve

Vintner’s Reserve is made through an intense sampling process of all the barrels in the cellar to decide the perfect master blend. The 2013 vintage of VR had a lengthy barrel ageing regime that we have recently implemented at Veritas. The fruit is 100% estate grown and once fermented spends 15 months in a combination of new and neutral French and American oak.
