The Nelson County Community Fund & the Opportunity Ball

The Nelson County Community Fund is a committee-advised fund in the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation created for the express purpose of providing the most basic human services for our neighbors in need. The NCCF is made up of local volunteers who generate and distribute grant funds for approximately 24 charitable groups in the County.

The Opportunity Ball is the culmination of a fundraising campaign in which individuals and corporations have taken the opportunity to make a charitable contribution on their community. Their fundraising helps to address the need for medical and dental care, improved housing, childcare, even food for our neighbors in Nelson County. All of the funds raised through sponsorships, auctions, and donations are used solely to benefit Nelson County through grants.
